Because Center of Family Love residents soon will be eating as well as selling the fruits of their horticulture labor, they’ve got a catchy name for the planned expansion of their greenhouse program. They’re calling it “Farm to Fork.

Thirty-four FFA and Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) met in Washington, D.C., to have an interactive discussion about agricultural policy, and ways each young individual can be an entrepreneur in the agricultural industry.

An afternoon of tasting wine and chocolate under the shade trees and canopies at Memorial Park in Hennessey should be on your calendar Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1-6 p.m.

Registration is still open for the Distinguished Young Women of Kingfisher County program. This year’s program is Saturday, Nov. 9, but there are several weeks of meetings and practices leading up to the event. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, Sept.

The Surprise Home Extension Group met Sept. 12 in the home of Pansy Wheeler.   The Kingfisher County Free Fair results were announced that the group won first place among all local Home Extension Clubs with its total exhibits.

The 1969 graduating class of Okarche High School recently celebrated its 50-year reunion at the home of Tom and Sherri Arms.

Hennessey Farmerettes met Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Eat Em’ Up banquet room for its regular monthly meeting. Members attending were Mary Curry, Jamie Akenhead, Billie Melendy, Dot Miller, Lily Rourke, Margie Connell and Kathy Patocka.

Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, met at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Kingfisher Public Library. The members gathered at that time to do an activity of “How Does Your Garden Grow.

Kingfisher County Extension will host a class this week on strengthening joints through chair exercises. The class is 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Kingfisher County Extension Office.

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Monday, Sept. 23, at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan Ave, Kingfisher. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a presentation by Dr. Alan Berch Hollingsworth of Oklahoma City. He will review his 2017 book “Killing Albert Berch.
