An Okarche man was killed Tuesday morning after his car hydroplaned into a bridge railing and then was struck by a pickup truck on Interstate 40 in Yukon. Kenneth E. Stoner, 38, was pinned inside his vehicle for nearly two hours before being extricated by the Yukon Fire Department.

A local man struck by a train near Kingfisher May 28 was released from the hospital Monday, a family member reported.

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Alyssa A. Smalley graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Plainview HCE held its monthly meeting Monday, May 13, in the home of Linda Witt. Dana Golbek, president, brought the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. Members recited pledges to the American and Oklahoma flags followed by the devotion. Roll call was taken and the minutes were read.
