MEMORIAL SERVICE Mary Josephine “Jo” Ramer was born Sept. 5, 1927, to Carl Ira and Mary Josephine Mills and passed away March 12, 2019, at the age of 91. A graveside service for Jo and her husband James C. “J.C.” Ramer, both of Omega, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Kingfisher Cemetery.

A busy agenda for the May regular meeting of the Kingfisher Board of Education brought with it the most personnel moves of the year in terms of volume. Board members approved more than 150 hires as certified personnel, support staff and more were rehired for the 2019-20 school year.

Kingfisher County commissioners took no action Monday for a second time on a request by a seismograph company to conduct seismic operations on and along county roadways.

Not all individuals who play integral roles in the Kingfisher County court system are judges or lawyers.

On the surface, the above photo is nothing more than four lanes of traffic open on the north end of Kingfisher. However, for travelers who frequent the county seat, that’s good news. Construction workers are nearing completion of the bridge project on the span of U.S.
