MEMORIAL: Mary ‘Jo’ & James ‘J.C.’ Ramer

MEMORIAL SERVICE Mary Josephine “Jo” Ramer was born Sept. 5, 1927, to Carl Ira and Mary Josephine Mills and passed away March 12, 2019, at the age of 91. A graveside service for Jo and her husband James C. “J.C.” Ramer, both of Omega, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Kingfisher Cemetery.

Kingfisher school board rehires certified, support staff

A busy agenda for the May regular meeting of the Kingfisher Board of Education brought with it the most personnel moves of the year in terms of volume. Board members approved more than 150 hires as certified personnel, support staff and more were rehired for the 2019-20 school year.

Tornado siren test Friday in Hennessey

The Town of Hennessey will have a tornado siren test at noon Friday, May 10, weather permitting.If there is any chance of severe weather, the test will be canceled, said Tiffany Tillman, town administrator.
