Embezzlement charge filed; warrant issued

A warrant was still outstanding at press time Friday for a Kingfisher woman charged with allegedly embezzling more than $11,000 from a local church. Ola Lynn Turner, 59, 406 S. 11th St., Kingfisher, was charged April 1 for allegedly appropriating $11,474.

Ombudsmen recognized

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and the Long Term Care Authority of Enid Area Agency on Aging is recognizing its Ombudsman Volunteers for their dedication.

KHS girls state champs recognized at state Capitol

Local legislators recently recognized a pair of state championship teams from Kingfisher High School on both the House and Senate floors at the state Capitol. Kingfisher’s first state championship of the school year belonged to the girls cross country team. They were honored Thursday, April 4.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Seth Wallace makes a traffic stop east of Kingfisher on S.H. 33 Friday as part of a saturation patrol. A total of 24 troopers worked in the Kingfisher area from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.

County solicits asphalt bids

Kingfisher County commissioners approved soliciting bids on three asphalt overlay projects, one in each district, Monday. The District 1 project will be Lemon Road, east of U.S. 81, District 2 project will be NS 2830 from the Cimarron River Bridge (Ed Harrison Bridge) north to S.H.
