Giving every Kingfisher County school student the same start for the 2021-22 school year is the goal of Kingfisher Community Collaborative’s annual school supply drive.

A round of golf is going to help spread Christmas cheer this year. The Kingfisher Golf Association in conjunction with the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce recently held its sixth annual Benefit Golf Tournament.

Hennessey’s 12th annual Back to School Bash will be held at the town’s aquatic park/pool Sunday, Aug. 8. The event this year is limited to Hennessey students only because the pool was at maximum capacity last year.

The 51st Ellyson family reunion was held Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the Crescent VFW building. Hosting this year’s reunion was the Charles Ellyson and Lee Ellyson families.

Zoe Goodson Zoe is the daughter of Steven and Erika Goodson and is 7 years old. She will be in the second grade this year and this is her first year of being a member of Cloverbuds. Her favorite part of Cloverbuds is creating stuff. When she grows up, Zoe wants to be a chef.

It was reported in the Wednesday, July 21, edition that Hennessey Public Schools was beginning a wrestling program. The program is, in fact, entering its second year. Activity in the sport was severely limited last season due to COVID-19, but it was among the list of a activities offered by HPS.

Kingfisher County was well-represented last Saturday at the annual Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame Banquet held at the Southern Hills Marriott in Tulsa. Three coaches with local ties were among the 10 people inducted into the hall of fame.
