Okarche downs Ripley 6-1 at state

Luke Hill and Easton Roby played big roles in Okarche’s ability to advance in the Class A-I state baseball tournament. The Warriors downed No. 4 Ripley 6-1 on Thursday in the quarterfi nals at Oklahoma Christian University.

Lomega girls are 4th as team; Myers, Fisher regional champs

Lomega made the trip all the way to McAlester for its Class A regional.The Lady Raiders were able to tally 60 points to place fourth as a team.Claire Myers and Kinsley Fisher came back as regional champions.Fisher got hers in the discus with a throw of 110 feet, 6 inches.

Dover’s Bell wins regional gold, qualifies in 3 events

Dover had two athletes qualify for state at its Class A regional in Cherokee.Kylee Bell is the pole vault regional champion.The junior cleared 10-6, which was also the best of any other regional in the state.Bell also got in with her performance in the 300 hurdles.She ran the race in 48.

Hennessey boys, girls 5th in 3A regional; 2 girls win gold

Cashion was also the host site of a Class 3A regional, which featured Hennessey.Both the Eagles boys and girls managed fifth place finishes in the team standings.The Lady Eagles grabbed 43 points while the HHS boys scored 54.Emma Copeland and McKenna Cheney were regional champs for the girls.

Lady Jackets 4th at 4A track regional

For the second straight year, Scout Snodgrass has qualified for four events at the state track meet.Snodgrass helped Kingfi sher to a fourth-place finish at Saturday’s Class 4A regional meet at Chisholm.

More Warrior gold?

Okarche has a chance for at least one more state championship before the end of the school year.The fifth-ranked Warriors downed Oklahoma Christian Academy 1-0 at home on Friday night to claim a Class A-I regional baseball championship.

Weather halts 4A girls state golf after Round 1

Shawnee Country Club proved tough to navigatefor much of the Class 4A girls state golf tournament field on Monday.Only one golfer was under-par in the opening round and all but three golfers were 10-over-par or more at the end of the day.

Okarche state-bound in golf

Okarche has multiple state tournaments in its future.The Warrior golf team matched the baseball team’s feat by qualifying for the state tournament.The golfers did their part Monday in a Class 2A regional at The Coves Golf Club in Afton.
