Snider’s 77 qualifies for 4A state golf

Raegan Snider is officially a four-time state qualifier. The KHS senior shot a 77 on Wednesday in a Class 4A girls regional at Kingfisher Golf Course. That placed her fourth individually and automatically qualified her for next week’s state tournament in Shawnee.

Dover’s Sam Wood had his career-best round Thursday as he shot a 1-under par 71 at the Bluejay Bash held at Lake Hefner Golf Club’s North Course.Wood was one of 20 golfers to shoot under-par on the day.His score tied him for 14th out of 105 individuals.

Kingfisher doubled its win total over the weekend by going 2-1 at the Guthrie 89er Tournament.The Jackets won the first game of a double-header on Thursday by downing Perry 10-8.After suffering a 12-7 setback later that day to the OKC Broncos, they came back Friday for a 9-4 win over Chickasha.

KHS girls top Weatherford for team title at Watonga

A true team effort saw Kingfisher’s girls bring home the team title from last Friday’s Watonga Invitational track and field meet.On top of medaling in all four relays, there were nine different Lady Jackets who earned medals in individual events.That saw KHS score 132.
