Roof leads Jackets at Hefner

Freshman River Roof paced the Kingfisher High School boys at the OCA Eagle Invitational last Friday.Roof shot a 5-over-par 77 to tie for seventh place out of 90 golfers in the tournament held at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City.

3 from county earn Region 1’s top honor

Three athletes from Kingfisher County received one of the highest honors last week from the Oklahoma Coaches Association.Okarche’s Easton Roby and Jett Mueggenborg were named the OCA’s Region 1 Co-Male Athletes of the Year in a vote of its coaches.

Lady Jackets 2nd at Chisholm meet

County athletes excelled in the jumping events at last Friday’s Chisholm High School Invitational Track Meet.Kingfisher’s Ela Hartman set a new personal best in winning the long jump, Dover’s Kylee Bell needed just one clearance to win the pole vault and the two both won medals in the high jump.

OCA All-State has strong county flavor

Three Kingfisher County basketball players have been named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team for boys basketball.Named to the Small West squad were Okarche’s Jett Mueggenborg and Easton Roby and Cashion’s Parker Mitchell.

KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL soccer got in a final tune-up Tuesday before the home stretch of district games to close out the regular season. The Lady Jackets downed visiting Harding Fine Arts 11-0 while the KHS boys downed Harding 10-0 in a pair of games that ended due to the mercy rule.

Stanford makes charge at tournament record

The record was 4 feet away from Ainslie Stanford.But, just like his final putt, it slipped right by.As it stood, the Oklahoma Christian School golfer had to “settle” for a 62 and tying the Kingfisher Large School Invitational Tournament record on Wednesday.

Warriors win Brexten Green Memorial

Easton Roby threw a complete game while Jett Mueggenborg and Ethan Kirby delivered big RBIs as Okarche brought home the title from the Brexten Green Memorial Tournament in Cashion over the weekend.The championship has some luster for Class A-I’s top-ranked team.
